Connected TV Mock Viewer Advisories
Connected TV Mock Viewer Advisories (MVA) on the Global TV App and STACKTV are :15 second co-branded elements that are meant to be a fun play on real viewer advisories, and is a fantastic way to pair the Global TV App or STACKTV brand voice & tone with a client’s messaging. They are a way for clients to align with the Global TV App and STACKTV brands and not vice versa. CPM premium of $2 added for placement targeting.
Availability
Guidelines
- MVAs on STACKTV & Global TV App are RON and can be targeted by program or brand (and Common Industry Segments on Global TV App).
- MVAs must air in the last position within a pod, leading into programming.
- The first half belongs to Global TV App or STACKTV branding and the back half belongs to the client. There must be a clear separation between the two messages.
- The contextual alignment portion of the MVA MUST be written in the tone of the content being targeted and be relevant to the brand positioning
- Words & phrases that are strongly associated with the client’s brand positioning or tagline CANNOT be used in the Global TV App or STACKTV branded portion
- MVAs MUST be sold as co-branded elements
- Pre-clearance category content (Food, Alcohol, Cosmetics, Drug & Kids) must work in the spirit of Ad Standards.
Guidelines for CTV MVAs on STACKTV KIDS-targeted channels
CTV MVAs can run on STACKTV kids-targeted channels as long as:
- The client portion of the MVA is clearly identified as an ad. It cannot look like part of the programming segment. (Kids cannot always differentiate between content and commercial)
- The MVA must be overtly mock and clear that it is not a real advisory
- MVAs CANNOT run on Treehouse on STACKTV
- MVAs on STACKTV kids-targeted channels must work in the spirit of Ad Standards and follow all children’s advertising rules with regards to allowable products, creative & messaging.
- Products not intended for children or prohibited from sale to minors must not be advertised on STACKTV kids-targeted verticals. This includes movies and books that are not appropriate for a kids demo.
RULES & REGULATIONS: CTV Mock Viewer Advisories for iGaming Clients
CTV Mock Viewer Advisories featuring iGaming client on the Global TV App and STACKTV must follow all iGaming Ontario and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) guidelines, including geo-targeting to Ontario only and age-gating for a 19+ audience for Pay-For-Play operators. Client brandsells must come with necessary Think TV iGaming clearance approvals. For campaigns outside of ON, all provincial iGaming guidelines apply.
NO CATEGORY OF GAMBLING OR IGAMING ADVERTISING is permitted on the following STACKTV channels:
- Cartoon Network
- Disney Channel
- Treehouse
- YTV
Production
- MAC/Windows compatible
- Accepted formats: AI, EPS, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, PSD – Converts fonts to outlines
- Minimum for full screen graphics is 1920×1080 at 300 DPI
- Timecode (in/out points) to indicate which portion of the creative can be used
- Dimensions (in pixels): 1920×1080, 16:9 (recommended)
- Accepted file formats: .MP4, VAST (no VPAID and no .MOV)
- Maximum file size: 10MB
- Video bit rate: MP4 encoded in H.264 with AAC audio, 29.97 fps, 1920×1080 resolution (16:9 aspect ratio). 29.97 fps, no higher than 8 MB/s bitrate (4500-8000 Kbps)
- Frames per second: 29.97 fps
- Corus MUST ALWAYS supply the voice talent for Mock Viewer Advisories. Depending on availability, it will be the MALE or FEMALE streaming voice (we will do our best to accommodate client preference).
- 192 kbps or higher for AAC-LC
- Music and sound effects can be accepted as WAV, AIFF, MP3, or embedded with the Video file – split track is preferred. If there is a guide VO, it MUST be on a separate track.
- Corus reserves the right to remove music, SFX or pneumonic if it interferes with the streaming voice.
